About The Position

The Maintenance Utility Operator is responsible for operating various equipment, performing minor maintenance tasks, and ensuring a safe working environment. This role involves general upkeep of machinery, assisting with equipment changes, and utilizing a system for tracking maintenance activities. The position requires adherence to all safety guidelines and respectful treatment of team members.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Meet minimum qualifications as defined in the Company’s selection process.
  • Machine and technical aptitude.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Skilled in operating forklift, aerial / scissor lift and die cart.
  • Knowledge of basic safety procedures and precautions.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Must be able to stand on concrete floor for the duration of work shift, walk, push, pull, reach overhead, and bend to the floor, and use arms and hands.
  • Visual precision is needed for computer usage and inspection requirements.
  • Must be able to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and repetitively lift up to 40 pounds from and to a height of 10-56 inches for the work shift.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience operating forklifts, presses, and other auxiliary equipment.
  • Welding skills.

Responsibilities

  • Operates Hilo, aerial/scissor lift and die cart.
  • Performs minor fabrication work.
  • Performs minor preventative maintenance (PMs) on presses and welders.
  • Assists with tip changes and C-frame changeovers.
  • Performs equipment cleaning and upkeep, including PM and cleaning of nut feeders.
  • Learns and utilizes the Maximo system for data entry and PM tracking.
  • Adheres to all safety guidelines and monitors the tool room for potential safety concerns.
  • Treats all Team Members with respect and dignity.
  • Performs other tasks as assigned.
