The Maintenance Training and Safety Specialist is responsible for conducting OSHA training, maintaining training records, scheduling training for mechanics, and managing the Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), confined space, and all other safety programs. Performs safety inspections and ensures compliance with safety protocols. Oversees new employee onboarding and facilitates contractor/vendor training. Collaborates with management to identify staff training needs, ensuring the delivery of excellent customer service and adherence to company values, ethical standards, and policies. Work is performed inside and outside in all weather conditions. The role involves performing regular safety inspections of equipment, tools, and workspaces to ensure compliance with safety protocols. Must be able to properly assess, prioritize and appropriately handle a variety of situations. Communication commonly occurs with people who have similar or different functions inside or outside the organization. Requires substantial computer work while in a seated or standing position in performance of duties. Also utilizes advanced technical equipment as needed. The role requires collaboration with management to identify and address training needs for maintenance staff, aiming to improve skills and safety awareness.
