About The Position

Perimeter Behavioral Hospital of Arlington is seeking a dependable and skilled Maintenance Technician to support the safe, efficient, and well-maintained operation of our behavioral healthcare facility. This position is responsible for performing preventive maintenance, repairs, inspections, grounds maintenance, and general facility upkeep to ensure a safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff. The ideal candidate is hands-on, safety-conscious, and experienced in general building maintenance, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and equipment repair.

Requirements

Experience operating hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment required.
Strong understanding of workplace safety procedures and maintenance practices.
Must successfully complete BLS (Basic Life Support) and Handle with Care (HWC) training within two weeks of employment.
Must be available to attend a full week of hospital orientation upon hire.
Must participate in an on-call rotation schedule.
Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
Ability to push, pull, bend, kneel, squat, climb, and stand for extended periods.
Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Ability to safely operate maintenance equipment and tools.
Ability to respond to situations involving potential exposure to bloodborne pathogens and bodily fluids.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Technical or trade school training preferred.
Previous maintenance experience in a hospital or healthcare environment strongly preferred.
Working knowledge of building maintenance practices and mechanical systems.
Ability to troubleshoot maintenance issues and identify appropriate solutions.

Responsibilities

Perform maintenance and repair work involving painting, carpentry, plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC equipment, and preventive maintenance.
Conduct facility inspections and complete routine testing of equipment and building systems.
Clean and replace air filters in accordance with the preventive maintenance program.
Dispose of infectious and contaminated waste following established safety guidelines.
Maintain facility grounds in a clean, safe, and professional manner.
Repair and maintain lighting systems, including replacing bulbs and fixtures as needed.
Assist with the installation, repair, and maintenance of mechanical and electrical equipment under supervisory guidance.
Perform janitorial duties when needed to support facility operations.
Follow proper lockout/tagout procedures when servicing equipment.
Adhere to infection control standards, OSHA regulations, safety policies, and risk management procedures.
Support a safe, therapeutic, and risk-free environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
Manage time effectively and complete assigned tasks in an organized and efficient manner.
Maintain compliance with all facility, departmental, corporate, and personnel policies and procedures.
Demonstrate professionalism through dependable attendance, punctuality, and appropriate workplace conduct.
Support facility-wide quality improvement and performance enhancement initiatives.
