About The Position

As a Short-Term Vacation Rental Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring that vacation rental properties are well-maintained, safe, and fully operational for guests. You will perform a variety of tasks related to property upkeep, repairs, and inspections to ensure a positive experience for guests during their stay.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in maintenance or facilities management, preferably in the hospitality or property management industry.
  • Strong knowledge of basic maintenance tasks such as plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and appliance repair.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot issues effectively.
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness and safety standards.
  • Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects, climb ladders, and perform manual labor as needed.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification or training in maintenance, HVAC, plumbing, or related field.
  • Experience working with short-term vacation rentals or in the hospitality industry.
  • Familiarity with property management software and tools for scheduling and tracking maintenance tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine inspections of vacation rental properties to identify any maintenance issues or repairs needed.
  • Perform preventive maintenance tasks such as HVAC filter replacements, appliance checks, and plumbing inspections to ensure optimal functioning.
  • Respond promptly to repair requests from guests or property management.
  • Address issues such as leaky faucets, malfunctioning appliances, electrical problems, and other maintenance issues to ensure guest comfort and safety.
  • Be available for emergency maintenance calls when scheduled to address urgent issues such as plumbing leaks, electrical outages, or HVAC failures.
  • Take immediate action to resolve problems and minimize disruptions to guests' stays.
  • Keep track of inventory and supplies needed for maintenance.
  • Maintain adequate stock levels of essential items such as light bulbs, batteries, cleaning supplies, and replacement parts.
  • Communicate effectively with property owners, property managers, and guests regarding maintenance issues, repair timelines, and any necessary updates.
  • Provide clear and timely responses to inquiries and requests.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repair work, and expenses.
  • Document any issues encountered during inspections or repairs and report them to the appropriate parties for resolution.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of vacation rental properties both before guests arrive and after they depart.
  • Prior to guest arrival, inspect the property to ensure it meets cleanliness and safety standards, all amenities are in working order, and any necessary repairs or maintenance tasks are addressed.
  • After guest departure, perform another inspection to assess any damages, missing items, or maintenance issues caused during the stay, and coordinate necessary repairs or replacements.
  • Document findings and communicate any significant issues to property management or owners promptly.
