About The Position

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for troubleshooting, overhauling, repairing, and maintaining machinery. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of plant operations, including layout and equipment, with a high level of proficiency in the assigned area and a working knowledge of all plant areas. The technician will perform routine preventative maintenance, make necessary repairs to plant equipment, and adhere to Lock-out/Tag-out procedures. They will also be responsible for setting up, operating, adjusting, and maintaining production equipment, completing associated paperwork, and identifying/reporting any suspicious or abnormal situations that could affect product wholesomeness. Compliance with plant policies and procedures, as well as Peco-Pocahontas values (Safety, Teamwork, Mutual Respect, Accountability, and Honesty), is essential. The role also includes completing required craft training, willingness to learn and train in all plant areas, and responsibility for specification compliance of all Work In Progress (WIP) issued to the cooler.

Requirements

  • Previous maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical power transmission; hydraulics and pneumatics.
  • Thorough knowledge of requirements to safely troubleshoot and repair machinery.
  • Must be dependable.

  • Proficient in total plant knowledge, including both layout and equipment.
  • Exhibit a high level of proficiency in assigned area, and possess working knowledge in all areas of the plant.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, overhaul, repair and maintain machinery.
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance and make repairs as needed to plant equipment.
  • Practice correct Lock-out / Tag-out procedures on a daily basis.
  • Set up, operate, adjust, and maintain production equipment.
  • Complete necessary paperwork associated with machinery and job duties.
  • Identify and report any suspicious or abnormal situations to their immediate supervisor or plant management official such as product tampering, unauthorized employees in restricted area, and equipment malfunction that may put product wholesomeness at stake.
  • Comply with written plant policies and procedures.

  • Complete required craft training.
  • Willing to learn and train in all areas of the plant.
  • Responsible to specification compliance of all WIP issued to the cooler.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
