About The Position

The Hotel Maintenance Technician is responsible for the upkeep, repair, and preventive maintenance of a hotel's physical property, including plumbing, HVAC, electrical systems, and general building structure. Key duties involve inspecting equipment, responding to guest work orders, diagnosing and resolving issues, and ensuring guest safety and satisfaction. This role requires mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting skills, physical stamina, and often, a high school diploma with additional vocational training.

Requirements

  • Proficient in plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems, along with general carpentry and painting skills.
  • Ability to diagnose problems, identify solutions, and implement them efficiently.
  • The ability to stand, move, lift, and carry heavy objects, and work in various physical positions (bending, crawling).
  • Effective communication skills to interact with guests, management, and contractors.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, respond to work orders, and maintain organized records.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 1 years of related experience in a hotel or a related field.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine, corrective, and emergency repairs on the hotel's physical plant, including plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems.
  • Inspect, test, and maintain various machinery and equipment, such as kitchen equipment and lighting.
  • Assist with repairs to floors, roofs, doors, and other parts of the hotel's interior and exterior.
  • Respond promptly to guest maintenance requests with a focus on safety and guest satisfaction.
  • Conduct regular inspections and maintenance to prevent issues and minimize downtime.
  • Keep records of all maintenance activities and work orders.
