About The Position

We are looking for a Maintenance Technician to join our Maintenance team in Southfield, MI. Come create chemistry with us! We are seeking a professional like you, with education and experience in a Mechanical Maintenance discipline for the BASF Southfield, MI office. During your X-hour shift as a Maintenance Technician, you will work safely knowing when to stop work to develop a safe way to execute repairs, permitting and overseeing contractors. You will have a thorough understanding and application of handyman activities including but not limited to: basic plumbing, carpentry, masonry, electrical, landscaping, painting, drywall, general construction, weatherproofing and cabinetry. As well as know building systems and standards that when applied would serve to reduce the risk of equipment failure or other future problems. You will complete thorough inspections of buildings to find safety or other maintenance related problems. You will complete office employee work orders in a timely basis as assigned including basic electrical wiring, basic plumbing skills, furniture moving, hang TVs/Art etc. You will complete technical employee work order requests including troubleshooting electrical, replacing lights, fix doors, work on cabinet drawers, perform office moves, replace ceiling tiles, paint, hang dry wall, caulking, tile, plumbing, running ethernet cable, etc. You will also landscape, move equipment, and perform other physical work frequently with weights greater than 50 lbs.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 5 years of Mechanical Maintenance experience in a commercial or industrial setting.
  • The ability to regularly lift 50 lbs.
  • A valid state Drivers License.
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Nice To Haves

  • A professional mechanical certification is a plus.
