About The Position

This is a casual call-in position for an existing vacancy at Oak Hammock Marsh near Stonewall, MB. The starting rate is $17.80/hour, with wages commensurate with education and experience. The position involves performing various maintenance tasks to ensure the building and grounds are in good working order.

Requirements

• Involves physical work, heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs.) and working outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Ability to use tools and equipment (e.g. large and small frame tractors, power tools and snow blowers).
• Must be willing to work some weekends and have flexibility with the hours of work.
• Ability to work effectively with others in teams as well as independently with minimal supervision.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Must have own transportation to get to Oak Hammock Marsh.

Nice To Haves

• Some relevant experience would be an asset.

Responsibilities

• Arming and disarming of the building.
• Building inspection (mechanical systems, washrooms, room set-ups).
• Extinguisher inspections.
• Emergency eye wash station inspections.
• Conduct scheduled maintenance such as fire pump, generator and emergency lighting testing.
• Conduct seasonal maintenance such as snow clearing, grass cutting, trail maintenance, etc.
