About The Position

Habitat America, LLC is seeking a skilled and experienced fulltime Maintenance Technician at The Leggett, in Silver Spring, MD. The Leggett is a tax credit and market rate community made up of 267 apartments for seniors. Habitat America is a fast-growing property management company, established for over 30 years and largely based in the Mid-Atlantic region. This position is responsible for all technical matters related to general apartment maintenance. In addition to technical maintenance tickets and preventative maintenance procedures, this position will assist with unit turnovers and be part of the after-hours on-call rotation. The Maintenance Technician directly reports to the Community Manager. Hourly wage is dependent on experience and certification.

Requirements

Prior apartment maintenance experience.
Experience with appliance repairs, general carpentry, basic plumbing, basic electrical work, drywall and painting.
Must be able to work independently and as a member of a team.
Must have previous experience with apartment maintenance; appliance troubleshooting, drywall, and painting.
Must have a pleasant and professional demeanor at all times.
Must have reliable transportation and valid driver's license.
Requires extensive mobility and excellent physical condition.
Must be able and willing to work weekends and be part of an on-call rotation (days, nights, weekends).
When on call, must respond to call within 1 hours travel time.
