About The Position

A property management company is seeking a maintenance technician in Waukegan, IL. This role involves the timely completion of routine repairs, maintenance requests, and work orders throughout the community, ensuring all make-ready repairs and services are completed correctly and on schedule. The technician will assess and repair issues including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, appliances, and interiors, and must be able to perform plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, painting, and dry wall repairs, as well as snow removal. The position also includes performing preventative maintenance tasks, conducting interior and exterior rounds to ensure proper functioning of systems and equipment, structure integrity of buildings, and condition of grounds. Accurate record-keeping regarding preventative maintenance, repairs, work orders, work-in-progress, and apartment make-ready status is essential. The role requires providing excellent customer service to residents and staff, and performing other duties as assigned. An on-call rotation is also required.

Requirements

High school Diploma or GED equivalent required.
Solid knowledge of general maintenance and repairs.
Experience in HVAC, plumbing, refrigeration, electrical, painting, carpentry, dry wall.
Excellent customer service and effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
Valid Driver License.

Nice To Haves

Trade school certificate(s) in electrical, plumbing, maintenance preferred.

Responsibilities

Maintain accurate records regarding preventative maintenance, repairs, work orders, work-in-progress, apartment make-ready status, etc.
Provide excellent customer service to residents and staff.
All other duties as assigned.
On call rotation required.
