About The Position

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for completing preventative building maintenance for the assigned apartment buildings while providing great customer service to tenants.

Requirements

  • Relevant post-secondary education or equivalent and minimum two (2) years’ experience in HVAC equipment, BAS, and FAS in Class A residential complex is required.
  • Valid driver’s license with satisfactory driving record and automobile insurance may be required.
  • Computer skills (Word, Excel, e-mail/web) are required.
  • Ability to lift 50lbs, bend, push and pull as well as go up and down stairs.

Responsibilities

  • Perform necessary maintenance (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting) in occupied units.
  • Complete and submit accurate maintenance log and time sheet.
  • Clean and repair items in vacant or turnover units, including repairs like leaky taps, faucet change and door lock change.
  • Regularly clean common areas, including stairwells, hallways, and elevators, and ensure all lighting, emergency signs, and fire extinguishers are functional.
  • Keep storage and boiler rooms clean, shovel and salt walkways, and manage garbage.
  • Complete monthly inspections, painting and repair tasks on time.
  • Performing physically demanding tasks using ladders and power tools, while applying knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and life safety systems.
