About The Position

Associa is seeking a skilled and dedicated Maintenance Technician to join their team in Fort Lauderdale, FL. This role is crucial in ensuring the upkeep and functionality of managed residential properties, contributing to a safe and well-maintained living environment for residents. The Maintenance Technician will perform routine preventive maintenance, troubleshoot and repair various building systems, maintain common areas, and respond to service requests.

Requirements

Strong working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and general building maintenance practices.
Ability to communicate professionally with residents, vendors, management, and fellow team members.
Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations and safe work practices.
Understanding of applicable state and local codes related to building maintenance.
Ability to use smartphones, email, and basic technology for work orders, communication, and reporting.
At least 2 years of directly related or closely related experience.

Responsibilities

Performing routine preventive maintenance to ensure building systems operate efficiently and safely.
Inspecting, troubleshooting, and completing repairs involving plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and general building maintenance.
Maintaining common areas, amenity spaces, mechanical rooms, and exterior building features.
Operating and maintaining tools, equipment, and mechanical systems in accordance with safety standards.
Identifying potential maintenance concerns and proactively reporting or addressing issues before they become larger problems.
Responding to service requests in a professional, courteous, and timely manner.
Maintaining accurate maintenance records and communicating completed work to management.
