About The Position

Teknor Apex is an international custom compounder with a nearly hundred-year history, operating nine U.S. locations and facilities in Belgium, Singapore, Germany, and China. As a privately held company, Teknor Apex fosters deep employee and customer relationships, enabling the delivery of customized compound solutions. This role is for a Maintenance Technician on the 1st shift, joining the team behind their custom compounds.

Requirements

  • Associates degree in industrial maintenance or related field OR three to five years of related experience and/or training OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to lift thirty pounds over their head at least 4 times in 8 hours.
  • Ability to climb and work from a ladder.
  • Must be 18 years of age.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) (mentioned as an alternative to an Associate's degree, but could be considered a baseline requirement).

Responsibilities

  • Working safely and ensuring all safety procedures are followed.
  • Using electrical test equipment to test electrical circuits and equipment.
  • Installing conduit, wires, breakers, fuses, starters, motors, and other electrical equipment in accordance with the National Electric Code.
  • Installing, servicing, replacing, and repairing instrumentation electronics and other electrical devices.
  • Performing and documenting calibration of instrumentation, scales, and balances.
  • Specifying, installing, and troubleshooting AC and DC motors and motor drives.
  • Understanding PLC operations, troubleshooting, and ladder logic diagrams.
  • Performing electrical PMs and completing work order documentation.
  • Wiring control cabinets from a drawing or schematic.
  • Reading and interpreting documentation such as electrical schematics, manuals, and technical bulletins.
  • Operating maintenance shop equipment.
  • Using electrical testers to safely check power, fuses, breakers, and switches.
  • Operating a forklift, scissor lift, and jenny boom.
  • Planning and organizing individual work.
  • Installing, servicing, and repairing all equipment in a timely manner.
  • Providing and maintaining proper hand tools.
  • Maintaining good housekeeping throughout the plant and shop.
  • Understanding and following all safety procedures.
  • Performing other duties and related responsibilities as required.
