About The Position

CLARE|MATRIX is seeking a skilled and reliable Maintenance Technician to join their team. This position focuses on performing general maintenance tasks with an emphasis on basic electrical and plumbing repairs. The role requires a strong understanding of various maintenance requirements, including diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing buildings and equipment, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance. The company is a nonprofit organization providing effective and compassionate treatment, recovery, and prevention services for alcoholism and substance abuse to individuals, families, and the community. Requirements

  • Must have a high school diploma or an equivalent such as a GED.
  • Must have a minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Maintenance Technician.
  • A minimum of one year sobriety if in recovery.
  • Reliable access to a personal vehicle is required to perform the essential job duties related to regular attendance.
  • Previous experience working as a Maintenance Technician.
  • Effective computer skills, including the effective use of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Organized and detailed oriented with effective time management, verbal, and written skills.
  • Self-motivated and able to effectively and accurately follow directions and effectively carry out job duties and responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Performing routine maintenance around the building such as fixing structural damage, for example, window, door or wall repair.
  • Repairing broken or leaking plumbing to avoid water damage and restore full use of water fixtures.
  • Working on damaged electrical wiring when a shortage or severed wire occurs.
  • Coordinate with outside contractors for specialized repairs when necessary.
  • Maintaining the building HVAC equipment to keep climate control in the facility functioning properly.
  • Applying preventative measures to the building to reduce the risk of future problems, such as using a sealant on a flat roof.
  • Repairing potential safety hazards to avoid injuries.
  • Painting the building when old paint has become faded or chipped.
  • Troubleshoot and repair a variety of equipment, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry issues.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks and make necessary repairs before they become urgent.
  • Perform minor repairs, such as patching walls, fixing leaks, replacing light fixtures, and repairing doors and windows.
  • Ensure trash and debris are removed promptly.
  • Ensure there is a Facility ticket number for each request for maintenance service.
  • Repair broken locks, windows, and damage to walls and building structure immediately.
  • Strictly comply with and ensure staff compliance with all state, federal and local regulations.
  • Strictly maintain professional boundaries following established limits and guidelines for appropriate behavior with participants, ensuring a safe and ethical environment by clearly separating the professional role from personal interactions, and protecting the participant’s privacy and dignity.
  • Ensure strict compliance with health and safety regulations to CLARE|MATRIX standards, OSHA, CAL-OSHA, and all regulatory requirements.
  • Gain and maintain knowledge of the Operations/Facility contracts to ensure compliance and utilization.
  • Work in collaboration with team members.
  • Collaborate with the Operations Manager, facility assistant, and maintenance technician.
  • Respond to staff and participants in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional and multidisciplinary teams including, but not limited to, department heads, managers, directors, and senior management.
  • Participate in staff meetings, one-on-one meetings with supervisors, and other meetings as required.
  • Maintain knowledge, understanding and application of CLARE|MATRIX’s mission, vision, and philosophy.
  • Builds staff accountability through performance to the company’s mission and values.
  • Participate in ongoing training, team meetings, and certifications as applicable.
  • Contribute to a healthy work environment by always cultivating and maintaining appropriate boundaries and professional demeanor.
  • Other duties as assigned.
