About The Position

The Lead HVAC Technician oversees the installation, maintenance, and repair of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems across residential, commercial, or institutional facilities. This role combines hands-on technical expertise with leadership responsibilities, ensuring high-quality service delivery and team performance. The Maintenance Helper supports the maintenance team by performing routine tasks that ensure the cleanliness, safety, and functionality of buildings, grounds, and equipment. This entry-level role is ideal for individuals with basic mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn multiple trades.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED – Minimum baseline for entry into the field.
  • 0–2 years of experience in general maintenance or facilities support
  • Basic knowledge of hand tools and maintenance procedures
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work in varied conditions

Responsibilities

  • Assist with basic repairs in plumbing, carpentry, painting, and electrical systems.
  • Perform routine cleaning and upkeep tasks such as changing light bulbs, replacing filters, and unclogging drains.
  • Move, assemble, and install furniture, fixtures, and equipment as needed.
  • Support senior technicians during inspections, installations, and emergency repairs.
  • Maintain tools, supplies, and work areas in clean and safe condition.
  • Document tasks completed and report issues to supervisors.
  • Follow safety protocols and wear appropriate PPE during all tasks.
  • Maintain knowledge of diversity-related issues, legislation, and best practices.
