Maintenance Technician - Wastewater Lift Station

About The Position

The Maintenance Technician I is an entry-level role supporting wastewater facility operations. Under guidance, the technician inspects, maintains, and repairs equipment to extend its serviceable life, performing preventive and corrective maintenance. The role supports the Lead Maintenance Technician and includes maintaining equipment and workspaces, preparing tools and maintenance rigs, documenting work, and following company safety and health procedures. The position requires availability for all shifts, including weekends, holidays, evenings, and emergency on-call rotations.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent, with 0–1 year of relevant experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to write simple correspondence and follow written and oral instructions.
Demonstrated willingness to learn and assist in team-based environments.
Valid driver’s license.
SCBA certification or ability to obtain it.
Ability to frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
Ability to climb ladders and stairways safely.
Ability to pass a fit-test for Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA).
Ability to work in confined spaces.

Nice To Haves

Prior water or wastewater treatment facility experience.
Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).

Responsibilities

Assist the Lead Maintenance Technician with maintenance tasks.
Clean and maintain tools, equipment, and assigned workspaces.
Prepare maintenance rigs and tools for daily operations.
Repair or replace pumps, motors, gearboxes, blowers, belt presses, and other mechanical components.
Maintain records and documentation of work orders and completed tasks.
Perform routine equipment maintenance tests and inspections.
Follow company safety policies and health procedures related to essential job duties.
Be available for all shifts, including weekends, holidays, evenings, and emergency on-call rotations.
