About The Position

Lutheran Social Services of Wisconsin & Upper Michigan (LSS) is seeking a skilled and dependable Maintenance Technician to help maintain the safety, appearance, and functionality of our residential and program facilities. This position supports the Marinette Trolley property as well as HUD housing locations throughout Northeast Wisconsin. The role involves completing maintenance requests and repairs, performing various building repairs, conducting preventive maintenance, maintaining grounds, and ensuring properties meet all relevant standards. The technician will also work with vendors, participate in an on-call rotation, and utilize basic computer skills for documentation and training.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Two years of building maintenance, facilities, construction, or related experience preferred
  • Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and general repairs
  • Ability to operate maintenance equipment and tools safely
  • Ability to lift up to 100 pounds and perform physical labor in indoor and outdoor environments
  • Basic computer skills, including email and online training systems
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple responsibilities
  • Valid driver's license
  • Reliable transportation
  • Ability to travel throughout the assigned service area
  • Successful completion of background and other required screenings

Responsibilities

  • Complete maintenance requests and repairs in a timely manner
  • Perform plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, drywall, flooring, and general building repairs
  • Conduct preventive maintenance and property inspections
  • Maintain grounds, landscaping, curb appeal, and snow removal
  • Repair and replace doors, windows, fixtures, appliances, and other building components
  • Monitor building systems and mechanical equipment
  • Complete work orders and maintenance documentation
  • Work with vendors and contractors as needed
  • Participate in an emergency on-call rotation as assigned
  • Ensure properties meet LSS, HUD, WHEDA, local code, and safety standards
