About The Position

Aeon is seeking an apartment Maintenance Technician to join the team at Cobblestone Court, an affordable housing community offering 74 apartment homes in Maplewood, MN. The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining the physical condition of the property and ensuring Aeon's standards are met across preventative maintenance, safety, property appearance, and overall building operations. This role supports the day-to-day upkeep of the community and helps provide residents with a safe, clean, and well-maintained living environment. Unlike many apartment maintenance roles, Aeon's maintenance positions offer a predictable Monday–Friday schedule with no on-call rotation. Responsibilities include completing maintenance work orders, performing preventative maintenance, assisting with apartment turnovers, and supporting general building upkeep, including trash removal and seasonal outdoor maintenance. This position reports to the Property Manager.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills in general apartment maintenance is required.

  • Ability to stand, walk, reach, climb, bend, and kneel for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to conduct property tours and inspections: Includes walking through hallways, stairwells, leasing offices, common areas, and vacant or occupied apartment homes. This may involve navigating multiple floors and uneven surfaces.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds frequently and 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to reach above and below the shoulders.
  • Ability to use hands and fingers to grasp, twist, and pull.
  • Ability to withstand external weather conditions such as working outside in the rain, cold, heat or other adverse weather.
  • Ability to quickly respond to sights and sounds that may pose a threat to persons or property.
  • Special Boiler's License (must currently hold or be able to obtain within the first six months of employment)

Responsibilities

  • Complete maintenance service requests by performing a wide variety of maintenance and repair tasks, including: Plumbing repairs, Electrical repairs, Appliance repair and maintenance, Air handler and general HVAC maintenance, Lock changes and hardware replacement, Preventative maintenance, Apartment turnovers and preparation for new residents, Installation and repair of doors, cabinets, light fixtures, window coverings, and other building components.
  • Maintain the overall cleanliness and appearance of the property.
  • Manage regular trash removal and trash area maintenance.
  • Remove debris from interior and exterior areas of the property.
  • Perform seasonal duties such as light snow removal and salting/sanding walkways.
