About The Position

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, repairing, and testing mechanical and related systems within the Rockaway manufacturing facility. This role ensures production and auxiliary equipment operates safely, efficiently, and in accordance with established safety and operational standards. The Maintenance Technician supports line changeovers, preventive maintenance activities, and facility upkeep to minimize downtime and support continuous production.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of hands-on industrial maintenance experience required.
  • Demonstrated mechanical repair and plumbing experience required.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings required.
  • Ability and willingness to work overtime and on-call as required.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical, vocational, or military training certificate or degree preferred.
  • Basic welding, manual machining, and electrical troubleshooting skills preferred.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
  • Experience using MaintainX or similar maintenance management systems preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, test, troubleshoot, and repair production machinery and supporting equipment, including extruders, blenders, water pumps, vacuum pumps, grinders, compressors, and related systems.
  • Communicate equipment performance issues and maintenance needs with machine operators, maintenance team members, and supervisors to diagnose and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Install new equipment and components in accordance with manufacturer specifications and company standards.
  • Assemble, install, and maintain mechanical components such as gears, shafts, seals, bearings, and related systems.
  • Assist with assembly, installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of motors, transformers, wiring, and other electrical components.
  • Assemble, install, and maintain plumbing systems for water, gas, hydraulic, and pneumatic applications.
  • Perform regular line changeovers and equipment adjustments to support production requirements.
  • Repair and maintain the physical infrastructure of the production facility.
  • Perform preventive maintenance in accordance with established preventive maintenance programs.
  • Maintain an adequate inventory of spare parts to support optimal equipment uptime.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and safe condition.
  • Adhere to all safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
