About The Position

This role involves working alongside experienced Maintenance Technicians to provide guidance, training, and assistance. The primary responsibility is the maintenance of injection and compression molding machines to support the shift's production team. This includes clearing and resolving jams, restarting lines, and performing minor repairs and adjustments to ensure operational efficiency throughout a 12-hour shift. The role requires diagnosing mechanical and quality issues, performing necessary repairs, and restoring equipment to service promptly. The technician will be responsible for independently recognizing, reacting to, and adjusting machinery to maintain efficiency and minimize non-conformances, monitoring material levels, and minimizing scrap and downtime during color changes. The ideal candidate is accurate, trustworthy, has a positive attitude, embraces change and continuous improvement, enjoys troubleshooting and maintaining machines, prefers 12-hour shifts for more days off, wants a steady schedule, and seeks opportunities for skill growth into higher-level maintenance positions.

Requirements

Strong mechanical abilities and experience (e.g., proven auto/truck mechanics, ability to diagnose and repair engine problems, general mechanical aptitude).
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Ability to interpret technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form.
Attention to detail and ability to demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness.

Nice To Haves

Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred but not required.
Experience with injection/compression molding would be a plus.

Responsibilities

Provide guidance, training, and assistance to seasoned Maintenance Technicians.
Responsible for injection and compression molding machine maintenance for the shift production team.
Clear and resolve jams on lines, restart lines, and perform minor repairs and adjustments to ensure operational efficiency.
Diagnose mechanical and quality problems, determine necessary repairs, and restore malfunctioning equipment to service.
Recognize, react to, and adjust machinery independently to maintain proper machine efficiencies and minimize non-conformances.
Monitor materials to ensure correct amounts are available throughout the shift.
Minimize scrap produced and machine downtime in color changes.
