About The Position

Hillcrest Health & Living is looking for a dependable and hands-on Maintenance Technician to join our team at Hillcrest Millard in Omaha, NE. Hillcrest Millard is a skilled nursing community offering short-term rehabilitation, long-term care, and supportive services in a welcoming, resident-centered environment. Requirements

  • Must be able to speak, read, and write English.
  • Must be able to independently lift up to 35 pounds.
  • Must be able to perform repetitive sitting, bending, standing, walking, climbing, reaching, and movement as needed.
  • Must be flexible, calm, and professional in changing or stressful situations.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail.
  • Must be able to utilize technology, tools, and resources efficiently and effectively.
  • Possible exposure to communicable diseases and bodily fluids.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous maintenance, facilities, apartment, senior living, healthcare, hospitality, or building-repair experience preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, painting, carpentry, and general repairs.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to jump in where needed.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while staying organized and professional.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
  • A calm, flexible, and respectful approach when working around residents and families.
  • Comfort using tools, equipment, technology, and maintenance resources efficiently.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Maintenance, facilities, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or related training preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Complete routine maintenance, repairs, and work orders in a timely and professional manner.
  • Assist with general building upkeep, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, painting, and equipment repairs.
  • Respond to maintenance needs from residents, families, team members, and leadership.
  • Support preventive maintenance tasks to help keep equipment and building systems working properly.
  • Help maintain resident rooms, common areas, offices, service areas, and exterior spaces.
  • Identify safety concerns and report or resolve issues promptly.
  • Assist with room turns, furniture moves, setup needs, and community projects as needed.
  • Use tools, equipment, and supplies safely and appropriately.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Build positive, professional relationships with residents, families, visitors, vendors, and team members.
