About The Position

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring maximum operational efficiency of production equipment and facility infrastructure. This role focuses on the planning, organization, and execution of the preventative maintenance (PM) program for industrial machinery, including roll formers, power folders, slitters, and forklifts. As part of the Cornerstone Building Brands team, the technician ensures a safe, high-performing environment while utilizing digital tools to track and optimize maintenance workflows.

Requirements

  • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude with significant hands-on maintenance experience in a manufacturing or machine shop environment.
  • Demonstrated experience working with 480v systems and a thorough understanding of electrical safety standards.
  • Proven experience repairing and maintaining industrial hydraulic systems.
  • High proficiency in computer skills and the ability to effectively use CMMS software is required.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • A "can-do" attitude, strong math skills, problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to manage multiple high-priority tasks independently.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree or technical certifications in a manufacturing field are highly preferred.
  • Knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) for troubleshooting and logic adjustment is a significant advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair complex mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems for optimal performance.
  • Perform maintenance and repairs on electrical systems up to 480v, including motors, wiring, and control circuits.
  • Adhere to and champion all safety processes, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and proper electrical safe work practices (NFPA 70E).
  • Execute the branch PM program for all production and warehouse equipment to minimize unplanned downtime.
  • Utilize Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) to document work orders, track asset history, and manage parts inventory.
  • Maintain building structures and grounds, including minor construction projects and safety inspections.
  • Design, build, and install machine enhancements and facility improvements as needed.
  • Provide timely updates to branch management and corporate maintenance teams regarding equipment status and vendor coordination.
