Maintenance Technician - Nucor Towers & Structures
About The Position
Nucor Towers and Structures (NTS) is a new entity within Nucor, focused on expanding beyond its core business into the power distribution market. The current production facility is in Brigham City, UT, with new sites planned for Decatur, AL and Crawfordsville, IN. This role involves supporting a new team responsible for safety, electrical, and mechanical maintenance functions at the Towers and Structures facility. The technician will initially support operations at a temporary location in Brigham City, UT, before transitioning to the permanent NTS site in Brigham City, UT. The facility will feature state-of-the-art machinery for advanced steel manufacturing, and the team's responsibility is to safely maximize equipment productivity and uptime. The technician will be integral in supporting the integration and maintenance of new equipment to optimize production.
Requirements
- High School Diploma, GED or relevant work experience
- Journeyman Electrician or equivalent experience
- Must be able to demonstrate willingness/ability to uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Nice To Haves
- Industrial Maintenance Experience
- Competency with various computer and mobile applications, ex. Microsoft Office, ERP systems
- Knowledge in mechanical and hydraulic processes.
- Knowledge in the electrical field.
- Willing to expand and share technical knowledge
Responsibilities
- Supporting development of safe work practices and procedures for the facility
- Supporting the implementation of new equipment and technologies
- Support plant operations by safely maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and upgrading production equipment.
- Attending and facilitating relevant trainings on equipment and maintenance best practices
- Working closely with all departments to plan future needs and/or improvements
