About The Position

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining electrical and mechanical equipment to ensure safe and efficient operations. This role focuses on diagnosing and fixing issues with material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, balers, and conveyor systems. In addition, this position supports general facility maintenance as needed. The ideal candidate is hands-on and experienced in working with both electrical and mechanical components of equipment.

Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Forklift certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Experience in electrical and mechanical maintenance required
  • Ability to troubleshoot equipment and identify root causes of issues
  • Knowledge of electrical systems (wiring, motors, controls) and mechanical systems (belts, hydraulics, moving parts)
  • Experience working with material handling equipment
  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and basic diagnostic equipment
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
  • Willingness to learn and adapt in a hands-on environment
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work in various positions (standing, bending, overhead, ground level)
  • Ability to work around equipment and in different temperature environments
  • Willingness to complete background check
  • Willingness to complete light travel between locations.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical issues on equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, balers, and conveyor systems
  • Diagnose problems with motors, wiring, batteries, switches, and moving components
  • Perform preventative maintenance on equipment to reduce breakdowns and downtime
  • Repair or replace parts such as motors, wiring, belts, batteries, and other components
  • Respond quickly to equipment issues to keep operations running smoothly
  • Assist with installation or setup of new equipment as needed
  • Inspect equipment regularly and identify potential issues before failure occurs
  • Perform general facility maintenance including lighting, minor repairs, and building upkeep as needed
  • Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records
  • Follow all safety procedures and contribute to a safe work environment
  • Communicate effectively with team members to resolve maintenance needs
