About The Position

The Maintenance Technician will act as a safety champion, promoting a safe working environment by following all safety procedures. This role involves troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing material handling systems and conveyors, including motor/reducer issues, belt trackers, and belt lacing. The technician will diagnose electrical and electronic control systems using test equipment and safely operate various equipment such as forklifts, scissor and boom lifts, hand tools, and energy management equipment. A working knowledge of a work order system is required, as is the ability to maintain positive working relationships and communicate effectively with senior operations leaders. Additionally, the technician will mentor other technicians by providing motivation, guidance, and training. The role requires standing and walking for up to 12 hours, working at heights up to 30ft frequently, and may require overtime with little notice. Requirements

  • At least 5+ years of experience with conveyors, electrical systems, & building maintenance
  • Mechanical aptitude and strong problem-solving skills
  • Advanced knowledge of the operation and repair of material handling equipment
  • Advanced knowledge of power tools, pneumatic, and hydraulics, and how to use them all
  • General welding certification
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Forklift certified or able to obtain certification
  • Must be able to lift 55 lbs
  • Outstanding organization, multi-tasking, analytical, problem-solving, and time management skills

Nice To Haves

  • An Associate's or higher degree from a vocational school or college with a focus in the Mechanical or Electrical field is highly desired

Responsibilities

  • Act as a safety champion and promote a safe working environment by following all safety procedures
  • Troubleshoot, maintain, and physically repair all aspects of material handling systems & conveyors (motor/ reducer issues, belt tracker, belt lacing)
  • Diagnose, using test equipment, electrical, and electronic control systems, and other related equipment, devices, or components
  • Safely operate equipment: forklifts, scissor and boom lifts, hand tools, and energy management equipment to perform system support tasks as required
  • Maintain a positive working relationship across WSI operations facility, with the ability to communicate effectively with senior operations leaders
  • Mentor technicians by motivating, providing guidance, and leading training plans to help them achieve their goals
  • Stand and walk during shifts lasting up to 12 hours
  • Work and withstand heights up to 30ft on a frequent basis
  • Perform overtime as required with little to no advanced notice
