About The Position

Courtyard by Marriott Portland Hillsboro is seeking a dependable, hands-on Maintenance Technician to help keep the hotel property safe, comfortable, and running smoothly for guests and team members. The three-story hotel is in the Tanasbourne area and includes an indoor pool, hot tub, fitness center, restaurant, and meeting space.

This full-time, hourly role pays $22 per hour and is scheduled from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. The technician responds to maintenance requests, performs preventive maintenance and repairs, maintains pool and fitness facilities, monitors mechanical systems, documents work, follows safety procedures, and coordinates work to reduce disruption to guests. The role may also include other tasks assigned by the Chief Engineer or General Manager.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of maintenance experience; hotel, apartment, or facilities experience is preferred.
• Working knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general repairs.
• Ability to troubleshoot problems and work independently.
• Friendly, professional attitude when working around guests.
• Reliability and punctuality, with availability for an 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. shift, including weekends if needed.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, kneel, and stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Respond promptly to guest-room and work-order requests involving plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and appliance issues.
• Perform preventive maintenance in guest rooms, public areas, and on building systems.
• Maintain the indoor pool, hot tub, and fitness center, including water testing and chemical balancing.
• Perform minor carpentry, drywall repair, painting, and caulking.
• Repair and maintain furniture, fixtures, doors, locks, and windows.
• Monitor boilers, HVAC units, and other mechanical equipment, and report problems promptly.
• Maintain logs for work orders, preventive maintenance, and safety checks.
• Follow safety procedures and keep the shop and work areas clean and organized.
• Coordinate with housekeeping and the front desk to minimize guest disruption.
• Help with other tasks as assigned by the Chief Engineer or General Manager.
