About The Position

Burnbrae Farms is a sixth-generation, Canadian, family-owned company and a leading egg producer and processor. We are seeking a Maintenance Technician to conduct, maintain, test, and repair electrical/electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems and components. This role applies knowledge of electrical/electronic and mechanical principles to diagnose equipment malfunctions and restore equipment to operation, providing skilled mechanical and electrical/electronic support to all areas of Manufacturing.

Requirements

  • Technical Diploma or accredited apprenticeship program of the equivalent in a technical field.
  • Three (3) years of applicable experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of electrical/electronic components and equipment, including the use of special instruments for diagnostic purposes.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and effective communication with peers and supervisors.

Responsibilities

  • Follow all required work safe practices, including lock-out tag-out, PPE, confined space safety awareness, chemical safety, and fall protection.
  • Perform all tasks in accordance with company safety and GMP policies/guidelines.
  • Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair high-speed manufacturing, packaging, and facility equipment.
  • Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical/electronic equipment, including programmable controls, power supplies, drives, gages, and test equipment.
  • Make adjustments to equipment to ensure proper performance and safe operating conditions.
  • Assist maintenance personnel with technical troubleshooting.
  • Advise operators and line technicians on operation procedures and requirements for safely working with electrical/electronic and mechanical equipment and components.
  • Document and track all corrective and preventive maintenance performed, aiming to achieve maximum plant availability with a target of zero unplanned downtime.
  • Perform preventive maintenance functions as directed.
  • Install equipment, machines, wiring, or programs to meet specifications.
  • Identify complex problems, review related information to develop and evaluate options, and implement solutions.
  • Install, start up, and shut down equipment in accordance with company safety procedures for machine activation and shutdown and in line with OSHA requirements.
  • Maintain cleanliness of work area.
  • Support and help implement continuous process improvements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
