About The Position

Rogers Group is currently seeking an individual to fill a MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN position in the Glade Hill, VA area for our Virginia SMA operations. This individual will be responsible for performing fixed plant repairs in an aggregate processing facility and assisting with various production duties as needed. The successful candidate for this position will have a strong background of experience in welding, fabrication, and fixed plant repair work and a strong commitment to safety excellence. Experience or background in metal fabrication, cutting, and machinery repair – is preferred.

Requirements

• Uncompromising focus on safety excellence.
• At least 1 year of previous professional welding experience is required – with emphasis on mig and stick welding.
• Previous fixed plant maintenance or related industry experience is required.
• Must have mechanical aptitude/ability to diagnose and perform plant repairs as needed.
• Self-motivated individual - must be able to perform required duties independently, without constant supervision.
• Must be flexible on working hours and locations with the ability to adapt to different work environments.
• Must be willing to work overtime, weekends, and nights when necessary.
• Must be willing to work outside in a variety of conditions.
• Must have a clean motor vehicle record.

Nice To Haves

• Crane experience a plus.
• Experience or background in metal fabrication, cutting, and machinery repair is preferred.
• Experience in steel erection/destruction - fabricating, cutting, fitting, and welding - is preferred.
• Experience working with crushers, conveyors and screens is preferred but not required.
• Previous mining/quarry/maintenance experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Performs various tasks in an aggregate processing facility.
• Must possess ability to use cutting torch and welder and show demonstrated heavy industrial field welding abilities.
• Must be able to multi-task and be mechanically inclined.
• Operate haul trucks to remove overburden and stripping material for quarry production.
