About The Position

At New Story Schools, we serve students ages 5–21 with autism and emotional, behavioral, and developmental challenges. Guided by individualized learning, therapeutic integration, and collaboration, we empower students to grow and prepare for meaningful adult lives. Join our team and help students write their new story. As a Maintenance Technician at New Story Schools, you will help create and maintain safe, functional, and welcoming learning environments for students and staff. You will perform general repairs, preventive maintenance, and facility improvements that keep our schools running smoothly every day.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
At least two years of experience in general maintenance or repair services
Basic knowledge of drywall repair, carpentry, plumbing, and electrical systems
Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between regional school sites
Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and commitment to safety

Responsibilities

Perform general repairs, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and painting
Conduct preventative maintenance and safety inspections across school facilities
Maintain building grounds, equipment, and tools to ensure operational readiness
Address and resolve maintenance requests promptly to prevent safety hazards
Support snow removal, landscaping, and facility upkeep throughout the year
