About The Position

Responsible for the preventative maintenance, day-to-day maintenance, and upkeep of the property, grounds, rooms, meeting rooms, common areas, sports court, pool, and all related equipment, etc. This role involves performing quality assurance requirements, administering preventive maintenance programs, responding to emergency situations, and managing a work order system. The position also includes maintaining the cleanliness and safety of the property, making minor repairs, and assisting with various hotel projects. The technician will be responsible for pool and spa maintenance, setting up meeting rooms, and potentially driving a company vehicle or hotel shuttle. A willingness to train new associates and support team members is essential.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED preferred.
  • Five years technical maintenance training or experience preferred.
  • Experience in developing and managing budgets and capital expenditures preferred.
  • Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
  • Ability to make reasonable accommodations for individuals with disabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance, day-to-day maintenance, and upkeep of the property, grounds, rooms, meeting rooms, common areas, sports court, pool, and all related equipment.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to all hotel guests.
  • Perform quality assurance (QA) requirements for the department.
  • Administer and document preventive maintenance programs in the approved web-based system.
  • Respond to emergency situations on short notice and be on call 24/7.
  • Maintain and manage a work order system, completing work orders on a timely basis.
  • Ensure safety and security of flammable and other maintenance items.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the parking lot, grounds, interior, and exterior property, including trash and cigarette butts.
  • Regularly walk the entire property to identify maintenance or cleanliness issues.
  • Obtain pricing and bids, or develop cost estimates as directed.
  • Maintain working spaces in safe and clean condition.
  • Perform painting and minor repairs.
  • Monitor parking lot lights and exterior signs.
  • Maintain and service sports court, pool, and equipment.
  • Set up meeting room facilities (tables, chairs, podiums, equipment, etc.).
  • Perform HVAC spring and winter inspections.
  • Assist in HVAC unit repair projects.
  • Address guest room repair issues (caulking, tile repair, painting, plumbing, etc.).
  • Implement and manage hotel key control.
  • Repair carpet and tile floor.
  • Perform minor roof repairs, painting projects, and exterior projects.
  • Identify skills needed for different projects and train technical people at the property.
  • Maintain proper records utilizing the computer system.
  • Remain highly visible and readily available for guests.
  • Take initiative to offer assistance or answer questions.
  • Assist other departments with moving furniture and unloading/storing supplies.
  • Maintain and service pool and spa areas, including testing and recording as per regulations.
  • Train new associates.
  • Understand and implement the Brand service culture.
  • Perform all shift checklist responsibilities.
  • Support team members to ensure the team’s entire workload is completed daily.
  • Perform maintenance requests.
  • Set up and keep updated all maintenance-related documentation logs for QA Audit.
  • Practice and comply with safety standards at all times.
  • Know all hotel emergency procedures.
  • Assist in the interviewing, hiring, and training of new associates and newly promoted associates.
  • Drive a company or personal vehicle to procure supplies, deliver small equipment, or run general hotel-related errands.
  • Drive the hotel passenger shuttle to transport guests if/when needed.
  • Perform other duties as required.
