About The Position

JELD-WEN is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join their growing team. This role involves performing skilled trades such as machine preventative maintenance and repair, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, welding, painting, and minor electrical work, all under the direct supervision of the Maintenance Manager. The position requires a focus on maintaining machinery, mechanical equipment, and the facility, as well as fabricating and repairing components to support manufacturing. The technician will also be responsible for basic plumbing, floor repairs, and equipment installation. Reading schematics, blueprints, and work orders is essential for performing duties. Collaboration with facility personnel is key to mitigating breakdowns and ensuring product quality. A strong emphasis is placed on maintaining a safe and clean workspace, adhering to company and OSHA safety policies, wearing provided PPE, and reporting unsafe conditions. This role also includes performing other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical or trade school training preferred
  • 3+ years of experience in general maintenance, industrial maintenance, or facilities maintenance
  • Working knowledge of mechanical systems, basic electrical, plumbing, and carpentry
  • Experience using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and basic machining equipment
  • Ability to read technical drawings, schematics, and maintenance documentation
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced assembly line-style manufacturing environment
  • Must be able to work overtime as needed

Responsibilities

  • Perform general maintenance on machinery, mechanical equipment, or the facility
  • Repair, assemble, clean, modify, or fabricate components, tooling, and fixtures to support manufacturing and production
  • Perform basic plumbing work
  • Repairs wood or concrete floors, steps, stairs, and sidewalks
  • Repairs items using welding and machining tools
  • Move and install equipment such as saws, mills, routers, and material handling equipment
  • Maintains inventory of maintenance supplies and tools
  • Gathers the necessary information, reads schematics, blueprints, work orders and associated documentation to perform the duties
  • Works with appropriate facility personnel to mitigate breakdowns and to ensure the product meets the production standards and guidelines in conjunction with quality control objectives
  • Maintain a safe, clean workspace and abide by all company and OSHA safety policies
  • Wear company-provided PPE
  • Report unsafe conditions
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management
