About The Position

We are seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our team at our Ontario, CA bakery. As a Maintenance Technician, you will be accountable for maintaining bakery equipment and facility systems in a safe, reliable, and operational condition to support daily production requirements. This role plays a critical part in minimizing downtime through preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and timely repairs while ensuring compliance with food safety, quality, and safety standards.

Requirements

  • High school diploma with a minimum of 3 years of mechanical and/or electrical experience in industrial manufacturing environments; OR 5 years of related industrial maintenance experience.
  • Experience troubleshooting and repairing industrial manufacturing equipment.
  • Experience in at least two of the following areas: refrigeration, plumbing, electrical, mechanical systems, or food manufacturing process controls.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical, mechanical, instrumentation, and control system documentation, including P&IDs, single-line drawings, loop drawings, and equipment layouts.
  • Knowledge of equipment setup, functionality, operating procedures, and preventive maintenance practices.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work assignments.
  • Basic computer proficiency for maintenance documentation, email communication, and CMMS usage.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
  • Advanced experience with electrical systems, refrigeration, welding, boiler systems, air compressors, and machining.
  • Experience troubleshooting PLC-controlled equipment and automation systems.
  • Prior experience in a food manufacturing or bakery production environment.
  • Forklift, scissor lift, or other industrial equipment operating experience.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance to maximize equipment reliability and production uptime.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, plumbing, and control system issues.
  • Support equipment changeovers, testing, and major equipment overhauls to ensure operational readiness.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and work orders within the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
  • Operate maintenance tools, machinery, lifts, and material handling equipment safely and effectively.
  • Collaborate with production teams and cross-functional departments to minimize disruptions and optimize equipment performance.
  • Maintain compliance with food safety, GMP, quality, safety, and regulatory requirements while sustaining a clean and organized work environment.
