Responsible for overall building maintenance, troubleshooting and fixing heating, electrical and plumbing systems. Responsible for routine maintenance on building equipment, infectious waste removal, and light carpentry duties. Completes a wide variety of minor repairs through work orders received by the helpdesk work order program, following appropriate procedures for assigning and closing work orders, and communicating work order status to customers. Completes and documents assigned life safety PM's and testing as dictated by the DNV, DOH, and appropriate NFPA code. Receives stock supplies, verifying proper quantities were received according to the order. Starts, adjusts, and stops equipment such as generators, compressors, pumps, engines, steam boilers, refrigeration, and HVAC equipment. Tests new equipment prior to installation to ensure it meets specifications and hospital safety policies. Coordinates and completes minor plumbing, electrical, and maintenance repairs on all utility systems throughout the campus, such as minor wall repair, painting projects, boilers, pressure vessels, plant equipment, and energy management systems. Assists with snow removal and deicing driveways and walkways. Provides on-call maintenance coverage for the hospital.
