About The Position

LG Chem is a leading global science and chemical company with a strong focus on innovation and sustainability. We are seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our ABS Compounding Facility. This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth operation of our plant by maintaining and repairing all machinery and equipment. The Maintenance Technician will troubleshoot issues, perform preventative maintenance, and contribute to a safe and organized work environment. This position reports directly to the Maintenance Supervisor.

Requirements

  • Proficient in reading electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic and automation drawings
  • 5+ years of technical experience working in a manufacturing environment preferred
  • Experience in managing service providers who handle specialized installation, maintenance, and repair of machines and equipment
  • Working knowledge of electrical/electronic, hydraulic, mechanical, pneumatic systems
  • Expertise in handling multiple projects and daily activities with timelines
  • Demonstrated willingness to vocalize and review problems with supervisor and cross-functional team members in order to determine the best course of action
  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to accurately perform basic computations
  • Able to drive a tow motor and pallet-jack lift
  • Able to transport tools and parts to needed locations within the plant and warehouse
  • Able to access all areas of the plant including the roof and areas above equipment
  • Ability to climb ladders
  • Comfortable with working in a wide range of environments from interior to exterior, confined space, elevated platforms and heights.
  • Comfortable with workplace technology like registers, scheduling software, inventory management software.
  • Working knowledge of rotating machine(blower, etc), station machine(hopper, etc) and electric machine.(motor, etc)
  • Working knowledge of applicable regulations. (OSHA, NFPA, EPA etc)
  • Use of various hand and electrical tools and equipment.
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • 1~3 years of experience in maintenance at manufacturing plant.
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency in troubleshooting HVAC systems a plus
  • Proficiency in welding and fabrication a plus
  • Proficiency in related construction fields (concrete, masonry, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, etc.) a plus

Responsibilities

  • Support, maintain and troubleshoot electrical/electronic equipment, mechanical equipment, hydraulic equipment, and pneumatic equipment
  • Support, maintain and troubleshoot mixing and extrusion equipment
  • Perform a wide range of mechanical repairs (i.e. conveyors, pumps, valves, mechanical drives)
  • Perform basic electrical installations and repairs
  • Perform and document preventative maintenance activities
  • Maintain a clean, organized and safe working environment
  • Demonstrate willingness and ability to learn complex manufacturing systems
  • On-call manufacturing support for maintenance after hours and weekends
  • Ability to work overtime as scheduled or needed
  • Adhere to all safety standards (i.e. permit to work, lock-out and tag-out procedures)
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures
  • Perform total productive maintenance (TPM) tasks as scheduled.
  • Consult the Maintenance Lead to determine critical spare parts for any new or modified equipment.
  • Other duties as assigned
