About The Position
The Maintenance Apprentice is responsible for assisting the maintenance department with repairing and maintaining the machinery, equipment, and facilities. This role involves assisting maintenance technicians with installations, repairs, and preventative maintenance, dismantling machinery to examine and repair parts, and completing daily maintenance paperwork. The position requires maintaining a clean and organized work area and undertaking special projects as assigned by the maintenance supervisor or manager. This position will not have supervisory responsibility.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Basic tools to perform the above tasks
- Operational knowledge of common hand, power, and industrial tools
- Lock out / tag out certification.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in machine maintenance (as helper), building maintenance, preventative maintenance and/or basic electrical
Responsibilities
- Assist the maintenance techs engaged in installations, repairs, and preventative maintenance in the assigned area.
- Dismantle machinery or equipment using common hand, power, and industrial tools to examine parts for defects and repair or replacement.
- Complete daily maintenance paperwork for assigned work orders/requests and checklists.
- Maintain clean and organized work area.
- Special projects/duties as assigned by maintenance supervisor or manager.
