About The Position

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of machinery and equipment. This role involves performing advanced troubleshooting, repairs, and preventative maintenance on various mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. The technician will also be involved in metal fabrication, process improvement, and operating specialized equipment. Availability for after-hours repair calls and a commitment to safety and continuous improvement are essential.

Requirements

  • Mechanical or Mill Wright experience required.
  • Competent in cutting and welding, use of torch, and use of heat applications.
  • Knowledge of drive gears, belts, and sprockets.
  • Experience with rebuilding gear boxes, pumps, hammer mills, and airlocks.
  • Understanding of hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical driven systems.
  • Ability to perform advanced troubleshooting procedures in the event of a breakdown.
  • Basic skills in metal fabrication and design solutions for process improvements.
  • Understanding of the use of shop tools and fabrication equipment.
  • Ability to be available for after-hours repair calls when needed.
  • Ability to operate man lifts, forklifts, loaders, and trucks.
  • Demonstrates good judgment and common sense in decision making.
  • Arrives on time ready to begin working at assigned work center.

Nice To Haves

  • Mill Wright experience preferred.
  • Electrical troubleshooting and experience preferred.

  • Perform miscellaneous duties as requested by supervisor.
