About The Position

The Maintenance Technician performs a variety of tasks related to the upkeep and repair of the facility. This includes drywall installation and repair, painting, structural repairs, appliance maintenance, lock repair, preventative maintenance scheduling, and groundskeeping. The role also involves observing and reporting on the general condition of the facility, conducting regular inspections of grounds, buildings, plumbing, electrical fixtures, and major equipment. The technician must be aware of the location of utility shut-off valves and safety equipment. Responsibilities include thorough cleanup after work, managing necessary supplies, adhering to safety and emergency procedures, and responding to building alarms, including after hours. The position also requires attending employee meetings and training.

Requirements

  • Valid Driver's license.
  • Six months of experience with general maintenance.
  • Ability to efficiently use various power and hand tools.
  • Ability to communicate efficiently and fluently in both written and oral forms.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships.
  • Must be available for weekends and on-call work.
  • Must possess or obtain a valid CPR certification within 30 days of hire.
  • Must be Certified in facility-approved verbal de-escalation and physical crisis management techniques within 30 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Drywall installation experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Drywall/Sheetrock installation and painting, ensuring a superior finished quality.
  • Repairing and treating structures such as showers, sinks, appliances, doors/cabinets, walls, and building exteriors.
  • Performing minor repairs, troubleshooting, and adjustment of locks on cabinets, locks, closets, and desks.
  • Scheduling and completing preventative maintenance work.
  • Completing grounds work such as grounds pick up, sweeping, and light landscaping.
  • Observing the condition of the facility and reporting any unusual circumstances.
  • Making regular inspections of the grounds, buildings, plumbing, electrical fixtures, and major equipment.
  • Maintaining knowledge of the location of power, water, and gas turnoff valves, clean-out traps, fire pulls, extinguishers, and fire hydrants.
  • Cleaning up thoroughly after performing work in conjunction with safety requirements.
  • Notifying the Director of Plant Operations regarding necessary supplies.
  • Following company procedures regarding safety and emergencies.
  • Activating and deactivating building alarms and responding to alarm calls after and during regular work hours.
  • Attending employee meetings and training as requested.
