About The Position

Hillcrest Health & Living is looking for a dependable and skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at Hillcrest Mable Rose in Bellevue, NE. Hillcrest Mable Rose has proudly served aging adults since 1997 and is known as a trusted community offering assisted living, secure memory care, and state-licensed adult day services in a welcoming Bellevue neighborhood just off Highway 370. Requirements

  • At least two years of building maintenance experience.
  • Must be able to speak, read, and write English.
  • Must be able to independently lift up to 75 pounds.
  • Must be able to perform repetitive sitting, bending, standing, and movement as needed.
  • Must be flexible, calm, and professional in stressful situations.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail.
  • Must be able to utilize technology and resources efficiently and effectively.
  • Must be available for after-hours emergency maintenance calls and weekend duties as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of HVAC systems preferred.
  • Experience with electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, mechanical systems, and general repair work preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • A helpful, respectful, and customer-focused approach.
  • Ability to respond professionally to residents, families, and customers who may be upset or under stress.
  • Comfort using technology and resources efficiently and effectively.
  • Ability to work independently while also supporting a larger team.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Schooling in HVAC preferred.
  • Maintenance certificate preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license preferred to operate a company vehicle.

Responsibilities

  • Perform skilled and semi-skilled maintenance tasks, including basic electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and general repair work.
  • Maintain the building in a manner that supports state survey, safety, and OSHA expectations.
  • Troubleshoot fixed and movable building equipment, including kitchen equipment, office equipment, phone service, cable TV service, computers, tools, vacuums, and mechanical systems.
  • Clean and maintain the facility, shop, garage, storage areas, grounds, walls, ceilings, and floors as assigned.
  • Refurbish vacant apartments before new move-ins to ensure each apartment is clean, odor-free, and in excellent working condition.
  • Support general housekeeping needs as assigned, including public areas, resident apartments, trash removal, carpet care, tile floor care, windows, offices, and other cleaning duties.
  • Order parts, supplies, and equipment as needed using approved vendors.
  • Practice responsible resource management and help control costs within budget guidelines.
  • Respond to after-hours emergency maintenance calls and assist with weekend duties as needed.
  • Maintain a positive, professional, and respectful relationship with residents, families, visitors, and team members.
  • Assist with department responsibilities in the absence of the Environmental Services Director.
