About The Position

Freeman Boatworks is looking for a hands-on, reliable Maintenance Technician to join our team. This role plays a vital part in keeping our facility, equipment, and grounds in top condition. The ideal candidate will be experienced in general maintenance, mechanically inclined, and proactive in identifying and addressing issues.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and carpentry repairs
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Nice To Haves

  • 2–3 years of facilities or industrial maintenance experience preferred
  • Familiarity with PLC programming and robotic equipment a plus!

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and perform preventative maintenance (PM) on CNC machinery
  • Diagnose, repair, and rebuild Gelcoat, Resin, Chop, and Putty guns
  • Assist with PLCs, automation systems, and other robotic equipment
  • Maintain PM schedules and documentation
  • Lead and train other maintenance team members
  • Perform light building maintenance (changing lightbulbs, filters, minor repairs, etc.)
  • Conduct general electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and painting repairs
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety of the facility and grounds, including restrooms and exterior areas
  • Oversee waste removal and surface sanitation efforts
  • Support HVAC maintenance and filter changes
  • Help assess and resolve issues with building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing)
  • Complete other related tasks as needed
