About The Position

The Manufacturing Technician II is responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and repairing paint line equipment to ensure optimal operation and minimal downtime. This role involves troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues, performing preventive maintenance, and documenting all service activities. The technician works closely with production, maintenance and engineering teams, following strict safety protocols and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. Strong technical skills and attention to detail are essential for success in this position. The position requires a strong commitment to safety, continuous improvement, and collaboration within a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

Requirements

  • Technical school, military training, or Associate's/Bachelor's degree in electrical or mechanical fields.
  • Three to five years documented experience in industrial electrical maintenance within a manufacturing or heavy industrial environment with an emphasis on machine troubleshooting and repairs (as opposed to installation work).
  • Knowledge of safety skills around electrical devices and areas.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing motors, controls, sensors, PLCs, and electrical distribution systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and equipment manuals.
  • Skilled in using electrical diagnostic tools (e.g., multimeters, ammeters).
  • Strong understanding of safety protocols and lockout/tagout procedures.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and effective response to equipment breakdowns.
  • Understanding and awareness of national electrical code.
  • Reliable attendance and commitment to safety.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on paint line equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues.
  • Test and calibrate machinery to ensure proper operation after maintenance or repairs.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts usage.
  • Follow safety protocols and ensure compliance with workplace standards.
  • Collaborate with production, maintenance and engineering teams to resolve equipment issues and support continuous improvement.
  • Adhere to all safety, environmental, and regulatory standards (OSHA, ISO, CT-PAT).
  • Proactively prevent hazards and maintain a safe, 5S-compliant workplace.
  • Ensure product quality, reporting and resolving issues promptly.
  • Accurately document production, waste, inspections, and deviations.
  • Meet production, quality, and delivery targets through SOPs, lean, and 5S practices.
  • Support continuous improvement and TPM to maximize equipment effectiveness.
  • Report and help resolve compliance issues; maintain required documentation.
  • Drive efficiency and waste reduction through process improvements and Lean initiatives.
  • Collaborate across teams, share best practices, and use KPIs for data-driven decisions.
  • Foster accountability, learning, and support digital transformation.
  • Communicate and coordinate effectively with teams and leadership.
  • Participate in meetings, share ideas, and mentor others.
  • Keep accurate records and promote a positive, inclusive environment.
  • Deliver quality products and services that meet or exceed customer expectations.
  • Address customer needs promptly and support process improvements based on feedback.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned to support business objectives.
