About The Position

Cottonwood Residential is hiring an apartment Maintenance Technician to join their team at Morgan Ridge Apartments in Winston-Salem, NC. The role involves performing repairs such as plumbing, electrical work, and general carpentry, as well as troubleshooting HVAC systems. The position requires the ability to work standard community hours, including evenings and weekends, and to be on-call for after-hours emergency service.

Requirements

• Ability to read, write, and speak English to communicate with customers, process Company paperwork, and interpret safety and operating manuals and procedures.
• Must be able to move, carry, reposition, or lift items weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time.
• Ability to climb stairs, ladders, scaffolds, and ability to navigate elevation changes while maintaining balance.
• Frequent need to sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, bend, push/pull, and ability to navigate difficult terrain and access small areas.
• Ability to work standard community hours, including evenings and weekends.
• Considerable experience troubleshooting HVAC.
• Valid Driver's License is required.

Nice To Haves

• EPA certification Type II or Universal is a plus.
• CPO certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs that may include, but are not limited to, plumbing, electrical work, and general carpentry work related to household, building, and property grounds repairs.
• Troubleshoot HVAC systems.
• Provide after-hours emergency service as an on-call technician with the support of the Service Manager.
