About The Position

This job is a safety sensitive position that will require a pre-employment drug test and subsequent random drug and alcohol testing. This job may require on-call rotation and emergency after hours, weekends, and/or holidays. Effective 4/11/2023, this position is eligible for the Employee Referral Program.

Requirements

Completion of coursework up through the eighth grade Or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
Valid driver's license
Class A Commercial Driver's License must be obtained within 6 months of employment (for Level I)
One year of related public works maintenance experience (for Level II)
Class A Commercial Driver's License must be obtained within 12 months of employment (for Level II & III)
CPR/First Aid Certificate must be obtained within 6 months (for Level II & III)
Road Flagging Certificate must be obtained within 6 months (for Level II & III)
Trench and Excavation Certificate must be obtained within 6 months (for Level II & III)
Confined Space Certificate must be obtained within 6 months (for Level II & III)
Three years of related public works maintenance experience (for Level III)

Responsibilities

Operating heavy equipment in the repair and maintenance of public works infrastructure.
Assisting in training new employees.
Serving as a lead on the crew, training personnel, and operating heavy equipment and performing associated labor duties in the construction, repair and maintenance of public works infrastructure to include roadways, sewer, water and/or storm water lines.
