About The Position

The Maintenance Tech works with the Director of Maintenance in maintaining our Kendallville campus. The tech renders a variety of general maintenance tasks and repairs, performs cleaning duties, and provides painting services as needed.

Requirements

  • Five (5) years experience performing a variety of maintenance activities
  • At least one year experience in a nursing home environment is preferred
  • Previous Safety program experience with working knowledge of OSHA; Life Safety Code, Building Code & ANSI
  • Ability to interpret blue prints, equipment manuals, and building specification manuals; (i.e. building codes and Fire Safety codes)
  • Working knowledge of electrical systems, plumbing, carpentry, refrigeration and heating
  • Ability to communicate fluently in English
  • Strong interpersonal and supervisory skills
  • Ability to use a variety of hand tools and equipment associated with carpentry, plumbing, and electrical work
  • Ability to enter data in computer system accurately; maintain reports, record-keeping, basic math skills
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word & Excel)

Nice To Haves

  • Trade School certificate preferred. Specifically, Electrical or HVAC
