About The Position

The Maintenance Technician will directly impact the guest experience by ensuring that all physical aspects of the hotel-rooms, amenities, and facilities-are operating at peak performance. From resolving in-room issues to keeping systems like HVAC and lighting running smoothly, your hands-on approach and attention to detail will help create a safe, comfortable, and well-maintained environment that enhances the overall guest stay and supports long-term operational efficiency.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year of hands-on maintenance or repair experience in a hotel, commercial building, or similar environment.
  • Experience with routine upkeep of hotel facilities, pool areas, and public spaces.
  • Experience monitoring daily equipment operations and utility meter readings.
  • Experience programming and maintaining hotel systems.
  • Experience managing small inventories of tools and maintenance parts.
  • Experience documenting completed repairs and guest service tasks.
  • Timely resolution of guest service requests with a calm, professional demeanor that reflects HM Alpha values.
  • Consistently monitors equipment, maintains records, and follows up on preventative maintenance tasks.
  • Maintains open communication with the Front Desk and Chief Engineer, working collaboratively to address property needs.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Successful completion of a background check is required prior to employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical training or coursework in general maintenance, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or related fields is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain hotel, pool, and surrounding area, performing minor and routine painting, plumbing, electrical wiring, HVAC functions, and other related maintenance activities, using hand tools.
  • Notify management concerning need for major repairs or additions to lighting, heating, and ventilating equipment.
  • Respond to guest requests for service according to company policy.
  • Keep records of rooms completed.
  • Program phone equipment according to hotel needs.
  • Observe equipment and utility meter readings on a daily basis.
  • Stay accessible to Front Desk and Chief Engineer.
  • Maintain files of Material Safety Data Sheets.
  • Ensure par stocking of regularly used parts and supplies.
  • Learn emergency procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.
