About The Position

The HVAC Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing scheduled preventive maintenance, inspections, and minor repairs on residential and light commercial heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. This role focuses on system reliability, efficiency, safety, and customer satisfaction while identifying potential issues before they become costly repairs.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
  • EPA Section 608 Certification (required)
  • Working knowledge of HVAC systems, controls, and components
  • Ability to read wiring diagrams, manuals, and service documentation
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Basic electrical and mechanical aptitude
  • Customer service–oriented with strong communication skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Proficient in using service software or mobile devices for documentation
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to stand, walk, kneel, crouch, and climb ladders regularly
  • Ability to work in confined spaces such as attics and crawlspaces
  • Ability to work in varying weather conditions

Nice To Haves

  • 1–3 years of HVAC maintenance or service experience preferred
  • Trade school or technical training in HVAC a plus
  • Additional HVAC certifications preferred (NATE, manufacturer training, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine preventive maintenance on HVAC systems, including furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, boilers, and related components
  • Inspect systems for proper operation, safety, and efficiency
  • Clean, lubricate, and adjust system components as required
  • Replace filters, belts, contactors, capacitors, and other common wear items
  • Identify potential system failures and recommend repairs or upgrades to customers
  • Accurately document maintenance findings, service performed, and recommendations
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with customers regarding system condition and maintenance needs
  • Follow all company safety policies, OSHA guidelines, and manufacturer specifications
  • Maintain company vehicle, tools, and equipment in a clean and safe condition
  • Participate in on-call rotation as assigned
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
