About The Position

The Westover Companies is a family-owned and operated property management company with over fifty years of experience providing quality living, shopping, and working spaces. We are currently seeking a Maintenance Technician to support one or multiple apartment properties. This role involves handling routine service requests and preventative maintenance, ensuring work is completed safely and in a timely manner to provide superior customer service to our residents. This position is located in Wilmington, DE.

Requirements

• Demonstrate the appropriate and safe use of standard hand and power tools.
• Ability to lift and move heavy items (water heaters, appliances, rock salt, etc.).
• Ability to shovel and salt as required.
• Ability to perform routine, preventative maintenance.
• Knowledge and practice of a variety of building trade skills.
• Ability to work on step/extension ladders and roofs while following safety protocols.
• Able and willing to lift objects as required.
• Ability to work an on-call schedule as required.
• A positive, team-oriented attitude and understand and follow Westover Companies core values.
• Reliable work ethic and dependable transportation; must maintain valid driver’s license and working vehicle.
• Providing own (basic) hand tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance tasks, service requests, turnovers, and preventative maintenance to units and common areas.
• Share on-call responsibility.
• Diagnose and repair HVAC, electrical, and plumbing related issues.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Maintain current preventative maintenance property logs.
• Keep track of inventory and maintain a clean and stocked shop.
• Complete work orders in a timely manner.
• Identify safety and hazardous conditions and communicate any issues.
• Follow company operational and safety procedures.
• Exhibit strong commitment to the service needs of the internal and external customer.
• Communicate and work well with both leasing and maintenance staff members.
• Represent the company in a professional and courteous manner.
• Attend in-house training as required.
