About The Position

This position is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and upkeep of the hotel building, guest rooms, banquet rooms, common spaces, outside grounds, and equipment. The role involves completing preventative maintenance tasks, assisting in the proper maintenance and upkeep of company assets, and adhering to high standards of quality to ensure guest satisfaction. Key responsibilities include performing various building maintenance tasks and repairs on HVAC, mechanical, plumbing, and electrical systems, as well as hotel equipment and appliances. This also includes painting, finishing, minor carpentry, and exterior/grounds tasks. The technician will conduct regular inspections, upkeep, and cleaning of the pool and spa (if applicable), and follow a preventive maintenance program for all hotel areas and equipment. Maintaining accurate records in the company’s work order management software, responsible use of maintenance equipment, and operating machinery (if applicable) are also crucial. In terms of guest service, the technician will respond to and resolve guest requests in a friendly, timely, and positive manner, utilizing knowledge of the property to enhance guest satisfaction. Collaboration with team members, vendors, and contractors is essential for completing work orders and projects. The role also requires working safely at all times, maintaining a clean and safe work environment, identifying and resolving safety concerns, and following all company procedures for incidents and using proper personal protective equipment. Self-management involves producing required work volume through planning and organization, adhering to company values, attendance policies, and department procedures, and attending all required meetings. The technician must learn and execute all standard operating procedures (SOPs) and complete assigned duties, even those outside the normal scope of responsibilities.

Requirements

High School diploma or GED required.
2+ years of building maintenance experience is preferred.
Attention to detail, customer focused, and the ability to perform job duties in a fast paced environment.
Strong problem solving and trouble shooting skills.
Demonstrates clear written and verbal communication skills.
Must have a current and valid drivers’ license with safe driving record.
Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 100 pounds on a regular basis throughout shift.
Ability to walk and stand for extended periods of time.
Ability to perform physical activities such as bending, twisting, grasping, lifting, pushing, pulling, using hand tools, and climbing ladders.
Periodically works outdoors and in environments with varying temperatures, including cold and heat exposure.
Ability to satisfactorily perform each essential duty/responsibility and meet all criteria under physical demands, with or without accommodation.

Nice To Haves

Certified Pool Operator (CPO) and appliance repair certification is desired, or the ability to obtain certification based on property needs.

Responsibilities

Performs building maintenance tasks and repairs, including repair and troubleshooting of HVAC, mechanical, plumbing, and electrical systems as well as hotel equipment and appliances.
Performs painting, finishing, minor carpentry, and exterior/grounds tasks.

Maintains accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment status, and repair logs in company’s work order management software.
Responsible for proper use and safeguarding of all maintenance equipment, tools, and supplies.
Drives/operates motorized carts, skid-steers, lifts, and other machinery, if applicable to property.
Responds to and resolves guest requests in a friendly, timely, and positive manner.
Utilizes knowledge of hotel property, guest room repairs, and common area maintenance to increase guest satisfaction.
Collaborates with team members, vendors, and contractors to complete work orders, projects, and improvements.
Collaborates with other departments in a respectful and courteous manner to recommend and implement maintenance service solutions.
Works in a positive, respectful, and professional manner with others.
Works as a team player in meeting guests needs and actively contributes to the efforts of other departments when necessary.
Works safely at all times and maintains a clean and safe work environment in compliance with CSM, brand, local, state, and federal regulations.
Identifies potential safety concerns/hazards and works with appropriate stakeholders to implement resolutions.
Operates all equipment and machinery following safe and proper procedures.
Maintains knowledge of hotel emergency procedures.
Follows all CSM procedures for guest/employee incidents.
Uses proper personal protective equipment at all times when necessary.
Produces required volume of work by planning, organizing, and prioritizing work duties.
Behaves in a manner that aligns with CSM’s core values.
Adheres to CSM attendance policy, general work rules, and department procedures.
Attends all required department and hotel meetings.
Learns, understands, and executes on all CSM and maintenance specific standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Completes all assigned duties inside or outside the normal scope of responsibilities within the maintenance department.
