About The Position

This is a part-time, weekend-only position for a Maintenance Technician. The primary responsibilities include timely repair of production equipment failures, completing improvement projects to ensure equipment stability, and performing assigned preventative maintenance. The role requires assisting software engineers with on-site debugging, participating in continuous improvement programs, and performing installation and repair of electrical and mechanical components. The technician will also be responsible for testing and repairing various types of motors and switches, reading electrical and mechanical drawings, and understanding ladder logic, Siemens systems, H.M.I. systems, industrial controls, and PLC & VFD functions. Maintaining current certifications in LOTO, Arc Flash, Fall Protection, and Confined Space is mandatory. Additionally, the role involves training production staff on equipment SOPs and TPM procedures, fabricating and welding equipment as needed, and communicating repair needs and improvement plans with supervisors and managers. The technician must be familiar with equipment mechanisms, structures, and functions, and master knowledge of routine inspections, reactive and preventative maintenance, and lubrication. Other duties as assigned may be part of the role.

Requirements

  • Ability to read, understand and comprehend documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to speak effectively and interact with other team members, engineers, leadership and customers.
  • 1 to 3 years manufacturing experience and /or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
  • Regularly required to stand for long periods.
  • Duties include turning at the waist, reaching, bending, squatting and lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to pass static strength requirements (grip)
  • Visual acuity including: NEAR ACUITY - Clarity of vision at 20 inches or less. FAR ACUITY - Clarity of vision at 20 feet or more. DEPTH PERCEPTION - Three-dimensional vision. COLOR VISION - Ability to identify and distinguish colors. FIELD OF VISION - Observing an area that can be seen up and down or to right or left while eyes are fixed on a given point.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables.
  • Knowledge of and familiarity manufacturing software.
  • Knowledge of 480v 3ph electric and amperage
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for timely repairs of abrupt equipment failures and to perform equipment preventative maintenances
  • Complete reactive items, projects, and continuous improvement work orders as assigned, and feed back the completion of production and installation task to supervisor.
  • Assist the software engineer to carry out on-site debugging of the equipment, and complete the on-site debugging tasks according to the requirements of the debugging engineer with quality and quantity
  • Actively participate in continuous improvement programs
  • Responsible for installation and repair of electrical components
  • Responsible for installation and repair of mechanical components
  • Ability to test and repair servo motors
  • Ability to test and make repairs of reed switches, infra-red, photo electric, and proximity switches
  • Ability to read electrical and mechanical drawings
  • Understanding of ladder logic and siemens systems
  • Understanding of H.M.I. systems
  • Ability to use a multimeter
  • Understanding of industrial controls
  • Maintain current certification with LOTO, Arc Flash, Fall Protection, and Confined Space
  • Train production staff on equipment S.O.P. and T.P.M. procedures
  • Strictly follow company safety policies
  • Assist with new equipment installation and debugging
  • Communicate company issues, repair needs, improvement plans with supervisors and managers.
  • Fabricate and weld equipment as needed
  • Be familiar with equipment mechanisms, structure and functions. Master knowledge and methods of equipment routine inspections, reactive and preventative maintenance and lubrication.
