About The Position

The Maintenance Technician/General Maintenance role is responsible for the maintenance and repair of mechanical equipment and building repair in a multifamily housing environment. This position performs minor building, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and painting repairs, implements preventative maintenance measures, and maintains an inventory of repair equipment and supplies. The role also involves completing inspections, responding to emergencies, and performing other maintenance duties as requested. Candidates must possess basic hand tools, a valid driver's license, and their own transportation. A clean criminal background is required.

Ability to comprehend instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedural manuals
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
Ability to deal with problems and find solutions within company protocol
Must be physically capable of lifting a minimum of 50 pounds unassisted
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
Ability to commute/relocate to Jensen Beach, FL (Required)

Responsibilities

Perform minor building, HVAC, plumbing, electrical and painting repairs as necessary
Implement preventative maintenance measures
Maintain inventory of repair equipment and supplies
Complete inspections of buildings, units, office and amenity space as needed
Respond quickly in the event of an emergency, notify appropriate personnel and follow safety protocol
Perform other maintenance duties as requested
Report directly to Maintenance Supervisor or Property Manager/Assistant Property Manager
Perform troubleshooting, repairs and preventative maintenance, renovating and preparing vacant units to move in condition, outdoor grounds maintenance and property appearance
Maintain common areas and grounds of the property
Perform basic maintenance tasks and general repairs including plumbing, roofing, appliance moving and repair
Work with and repair drywall and paint drywall surfaces
Maintains building, performing routine painting, plumbing, electrical wiring, and other related maintenance activities as needed
