MF-Service Technician
About The Position
This position ensures residents have a safe, comfortable, and attractive living environment by maintaining electrical and mechanical equipment, appliances, and structures. Consistent attendance is essential as this role directly impacts community operations, workflow, and team communication. The company, S.L. Nusbaum Realty Co., is a large real estate development company founded in 1906, managing over 30,000 multifamily units in the southeastern United States. They offer a full spectrum of real estate services and have a strong presence in Virginia, particularly in the Hampton Roads and Richmond markets.
Requirements
- Ability to read and write English.
- Prior experience reflecting overall general mechanical aptitude and ability.
- Valid Driver’s License (if operating a vehicle).
- EPA Certificate for Freon Recovery; HVAC Certificate.
- Current Fair Housing Certification.
Nice To Haves
- Advanced training, such as that obtained from a mechanical/supervising trade or technical school.
- Prior experience as Service Manager for a multi-unit property.
Responsibilities
- Abide by Fair Housing Laws.
- Respond to residents' calls for service, completing plumbing repairs, laying and repairing tile, installing and repairing drywall, and repairing electrical switches.
- Mend fences.
- Assist with HVAC and Refrigeration repairs.
- Cut keys.
- Trash pickup.
- Lawn care.
- Swimming pool cleaning.
- Shampoo carpets.
